Energy infrastructure under attack in Ukraine
Ukraine's energy systems have come under escalating attacks in the past few days

Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have resulted in electricity outages in large parts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were hurt while residents in the city's east were plunged into darkness and faced problems to water systems, as stated by municipal leaders.

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was killed in a separate assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, according to area administrators.

Russian forces has intensified assaults on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while officials has demanded "concrete actions" from international partners to exert influence on Russia.

"What is required is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the United States, Europe and the Group of Seven - in providing air defence systems and implementing sanctions," he wrote in a online statement.

Officials stated that 450 drones and over thirty missiles struck energy facilities, characterizing such attacks as "strategic and deliberate" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as winter approaches.

Energy officials said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and technical staff were striving to restore power.

A series of attacks damaged electrical systems and residential structures in Kyiv.

Multiple people hurt in the strikes on the city have been transported for medical care, per statements from local officials.

Local officials said the metropolitan region came under intense attacks throughout the evening. A minor was killed and multiple civilians were hurt.

The attacks succeed evenings of bombing campaigns in the area, portions of which are occupied by invading troops.

The whole nation is under warning for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are tougher to detect.

Authorities told reporters that Russia was deliberately attempting to destroy the country's energy grid, with strikes already disrupting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed technical personnel and government agencies were anticipating more assaults.
